Magic Glasses Philippines

The Magic Glasses Philippines was a continuation of the Magic Glasses Program in South East Asia. Although the idea was the based on the same premise (the glasses being able see worm infection) there was a lot of differences in the art style and characters. The Philippines is an extremely colourful place compared to China, with a much more vibrant colour palette. The people are more extrovert and the culture is a lot more matriarchal than other Asian countries. We had to create the assets from the ground up, with an eye to re-use buildings and props for future projects. This saved us months in production and was essential with such a small team. We are still waiting for the overall impact of the Magic Glasses in the Philippines, but early signs are extremely encouraging.

As with Magic Glasses China, we spent weeks on concept art for our characters so they would be relevant to the Filipino children.
The end result was a cartoon that resembled everyday life in the villages of outside Manila.
The cartoon had a lot of scenes different to Magic Glasses China, as the western culture had a bigger influence on this project.
The cartoon was trialed in many schools and received well. We are still waiting the full outcome of the project.
